Will I really be able to teach English after taking just one course?

If you are a diligent, motivated learner the answer is yes. The course is self-paced but typically takes between 40-60 hours to complete. Our program has been developed under the auspices of ESEI International Business School, in conjunction with American professors, who have more than 25 years of combined teaching experience and are graduates of prestigious universities such as Georgetown, the University of Chicago and NYU.

Will I receive an accredited TEFL/ESL Certification?

Yes, upon completion of the course you will receive a fully accredited TEFL/ESL Certificate with AIMTEFL contact information for employer reference and verification.

Why AIMTEFL vs. CELTA or TESOL?

While you could take a longer, more costly course requiring more time and resources--we will ensure you are able to teach American English from day one. You will be certified in the essentials of the language and take advantage of prepared lesson plans and other resources which can be utilized immediately. CELTA and TESOL are UK and Irish certifications developed by universities with their own national interests in mind. Unlike other major languages there is no centralized governing body --such as Spain's RAE (Royal Academy of Spanish) --for the English language, therefore each institution issues their own certification.

What is the advantage of learning to teach American English?

Did you know that most people are still learning 1940s British English in their home country schools and have a hard time understanding modern English literature, film, music and technology? Despite the fact that well over 95% of global media is produced in American English, people are still learning something that your grandma wouldn't even recognize---this is due to the backroom agreements that UK companies and universities have with corrupt governments. In Europe for example, due to geographical proximity--and having a less dynamic economy and less developed market-- Southern Europe is currently dominated by British English language instruction, whereas Northern European countries educate students in American English. As a result many students, particularly business people, find their English lacking when they enter "the real world" and have to communicate with those outside of the Southern European "bubble".
